British Lifestyle Event to Seoul, South Korea

19 - 23 March 2012
South Korea Get Directions
A major new trade mission and showcase event to introduce members to the South Korean market is planned for 19-23 March 2012.
Add event to Outlook

A major new trade mission and showcase event to introduce members to the South Korean market is planned for 19-23 March 2012.

The mission and showcase event, organised by UK Trade & Investment in conjunction with BJGI and other stakeholders, will be marketed under the banner of “British Lifestyle”, and follows on from recent successful events in Russia and Brazil. A group of companies, drawn from the gift, jewellery, travel goods, fashion, home & interiors and other consumer goods sectors will take part in a high profile event in the British Embassy in Seoul, South Korea.

WHY SOUTH KOREA?
South Korea, home to 50 million people, is a vibrant and sophisticated market offering excellent opportunities for British top-end consumer goods and services. Koreans have strong purchasing power and are driven by their desire for high quality products and world-class design. Korea is the 4th largest economy in Asia and 12th largest globally with a predicted growth of 4.0% in 2011. GDP per capita is $31,000 plus which is close to UK standards.
The recent introduction of the EU-South Korea Free Trade Agreement will reduce tariffs on 97% of all goods within three years and open up excellent business opportunities for highly reputed British brands. Tariffs on high-end fashion have already been reduced to zero

WHAT WILL IT COST?

In addition to your own travel, accommodation and subsistence participants will be asked to pay £250 + VAT per company towards the administrative and event costs. Each participating company will be charged from £666 including VAT for their individual Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) visit programme including arrangement of B2B meetings. There will be a travel package put together and details will be given to those who express an interest in the mission. Please do not make any travel arrangements prior to confirmation of your place on the mission.
