How to Join

Membership is available to any UK company in the jewellery and silverware supply chain who can benefit from our key objectives, which are described here.

Applicants need to complete and return a signed application form to the BJA Office. The application form contains details of the BJA Code of Ethics. It is a requirement that applicants sign the code of ethics at the point of application and BJA staff will explain any obligations which are not clearly understood. Any previous directorships in jewellery and silverware in the previous 10 years must be declared.

Applicants must agree to abide by the memorandum and articles of the British Jewellery, Giftware and Finishing Federation, which can be downloaded from here.  (59k pdf)

Your application will be considered promptly but we may ask for further information before it can be approved. Membership will commence when payment is received and so this may be expedited by sending a cheque with the completed application form. Payment can also be made by direct debit or credit card.

Designer maker/crafts people download application form  n.b. to qualify for this category you must work alone, or with one other member of staff, producing jewellery or silverware of your own design or providing a skilled service such as modelmaking, setting or finishing.

2007 subcriptions are based on the number of employees. You can join at any point in the year - a renewal pro-forma will be sent on the anniversary of your joining. The following scale applies:

All applicants must pay a £15.00 registration fee on joining, in addition to the appropriate subscription.

All subscriptions carry VAT at 17.5%. Other subscription and payment options are described in the application form.

Direct Debit - subscriptions can be paid by direct debit with a number of options, eg 1, 4 or 10 payments per annum.  Please note as the bank requires your original Signature, the form must be returned by posted to the BJA. To download the direct debit mandate click here.
